Customs & Import Duty Guide

If you’re ordering from outside Ireland, you may be subject to customs charges or import duties. Here’s what you need to know:

EU Customers

  • All prices include 23% VAT.

  • No additional customs charges within the EU.

UK & International Customers

  • Orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to customs duties, taxes, or import fees on arrival.

  • These charges are set by your country’s customs authority and are not included in your Coffeeangel order total.

  • A DPD customs handling fee of €25 may apply to some non-EU destinations.

UK VAT and Duty

  • Coffee is zero-rated for UK VAT, so no VAT is charged on the coffee itself when your order arrives in the UK. Shipping fees are not covered by that zero rating.

  • The standard UK VAT rate of 20% applies to any goods that are not zero-rated.

  • On orders valued over £135, customs duty and any other charges may be applied by UK customs. Coffeeangel has no control over these charges and cannot advise what they will come to.

  • Our web shop removes Irish VAT for customers browsing from outside Ireland, so the prices you see exclude Irish VAT. You will not be charged VAT in Ireland and again in the UK.

Customs Duties and Import Taxes

For international orders outside Ireland, please be aware that customs duties, import taxes, and any related fees are determined by your country’s customs authority. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in your Coffeeangel order total.

We recommend checking with your local customs office before ordering to understand any potential charges.

If customs fees are unpaid and your parcel is returned to us, we will refund your order amount minus shipping and any applicable return fees.

What to Expect

  • DPD or your local customs office will contact you if any charges are due.

  • Payment of these fees is the responsibility of the recipient.

  • If you refuse to pay customs charges and your order is returned to us, we will refund your order (minus shipping and any return fees).

  • Because of additional customs processes, orders travelling outside the EU can take a little longer to arrive.

Refused or Unclaimed Parcels

If you refuse delivery or do not pay customs charges, your parcel will be returned to Coffeeangel. Upon receipt, we will process a refund for the order value minus shipping costs and any return fees incurred.

Please contact us if you anticipate issues with customs charges or delivery so we can assist.
